Take that...

Here are somethings I do have to do tomorrow. Or today. Or both.
Practice.
Give tours for incoming freshmen
Audition and play at UNO Honor Band
Maybe do something fun afterwards... please anybody??

well its not as long as I thought, but that doesn't include Saturdaywhich has these things to do:
Play in concert
Go to HuHot andPhantom with Abby and Doug and Ben and Doran
SHOLARSHIPS!! That'd be fun...

ummmmm....Side comment:
Today I went to Keiwit and talked to eigth graders about IB, I recognized almost NO ONE because all of my teachers have left. Plus MMe Shannon didn;t recognize us.. Is life worth living??

Othe side note: Mr. Rathbun is the weirdest gut I know.. Can you distnguish my voice from down the hallway?? I don't get what that was about...

Oh and as long as we're exploring things: I came to the realization that I will be the best teacher in the goddamn world. A lot better than those selfish, snotty, stupid, arrongant sob's that pass for teachers at MN... I can't write the whole story cause I get mad, but let's just say it had to do with that idiot civics guy who mumbles and some american history teacher...

well that's it for now...
Katie

D'ok

So remember that one time when I updated my blog??... I guess somethings have been happening because I am still stressed as hell but its not anything that's particularly interesting or exciting so I don't want to relive it by writing about it..

I gave a speech on Tuesday to a whole auditorium. I was told it was good.

I gave up on the piano.

I realized that some people I used to like a whole bunch I don't really care for all that much anymore. Either I've changed a lot or they have....

Ummm Mr. Ms. Mustang commercials are being filmed tomorrow. She is the one who helped me become what I am, musically speaking. I cried the entire way home from UNO, all through Morgan's BBall game and I'm tearing up right now. I just want to curl up in a ball forever. I can't take this now. She is the best person I know. I don't want to go to Darcy, I don't want to go to Bill, or Caroline or Tom, or Bob. I just want her to be my teacher because she is always proud of me and always helps me when I need it, for anything. I think I'm going to be sick...

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!

So has anyone heard of these Xanga things??? Went christmas/birthday shopping with my mom today... then we saw the movie Christmas with the Kranks... it was cute. I'm really super bored right now and I keep thinking of all the things I meant to get done today, tomorrow'd going to be really busy.....

Oh and the WTF of the day... I came downstairs because my sister said that someone tried to steal the little light up deer from our front yard... Merry Christmas to you, too, buddy. We found it crammed under the bigger deer. I think my sister scared them off when she came out of the bathroom... She saw them run away..I think it's really funny, but depressing at the same time....That poor baby deer..

Tomorrow's schedule:
Church Orchestra
UNO Library
OAYO Orchestra
UNO Library
Homework
Die from exhaustion

Sounds like a fun day ahead... Update???

So its been almost two months and I finally stumbled back onto my own blog.... here's some of the update....

Had musical pit orchestra of doom fun at the end of October...I love BAND!!

Spent a week out of school auditioning at schools on the East Coast... In case you're wondering, auditions went very well, my favorite is UMASS...how cool would it be to be in George Parks' Band??

Missed a week of school and had a lot of homework to do...I'm still not done....

ALL STATE was this weekend.... it was fun but not as much as years past... Got to see all of my DMA buddies and had a lot of fun with all the MN bandies. I'm not really happy with my chiar placement, but at least I never got worse... I just kinda stayed the same.....
Funny Jokes of the weekend....
Come back later... maybe we'll be in the mood
"After the sunset??"
Go take a permanent nap
"Don't do it NOOOOO!"

And that 's all I can remember....oh and Craig was obsessed with Doug from MW cause his room was close to ours....What DM hasn't craig been obsessed with??? No craig, I'm not being mean so stop giving me that face and throwing change at me... :)

I also had an oboe recital tonight...THanks to Bone and Chuckles for actually coming although it may have just been for the cake...It still made my day!! I also played the best I ever had and my teacher and piano player were impressed so YIPPEE..

Oh and I also made Winter Winds

Oh and I'm also going to kill mrs. Griffin if she doesn't get smart about this NHS crap

Oh and I'm never getting caught up in school....this sucks....

Oh and I got into MSU!

so that's all thats new with me....Hopefully it won't be another month and a half before I update again.....

Oh and I realized today that I'm destined to be a nun or a crazy cat lady....I seriously give up on boys...no matter what Allie Brugler says...I'm not piercing my nose :)

Hugs and Kisses...
Katie

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://mnoboe.blogspot.com/2004_11_01_archive.html#110118138854770230' title='Is that an ... So let's talk about it..

We hade River City last week, Took First in Parade (Yes!) And had a kick but field performance... Made me want to cry seeing the tape. This weekend was Columbus and was by far the most fun I have ever had at a competition....

WE get on the bus at 7 a.m. and head on THE BEST BUS EVER!!! Bus 2. complete with pep band songs on Kari's cd player.. WE kick butt in the parade (First for eleven years in a row...even though I ws super scared at the beginning by the Karney robots.) Then we headed to Columbus High like always and ate lunch. went to the "Band People Restrooms" took some naps, had the best back rub chain going, and Jordan and I swing danced. It was a blast. Oh and we had quartet rolling in the grass time.. it was the best. Then we had the best practive I have ever seen from the band. Unfourtunately, it spoiled us for the show... plus it was really sunny so anyways OUr show wasn't really good.. It wasn't really bad either..... Just there.

Elliot told me that Kearney was almost flawless...which I find hard to believe after watching their practice, so I thought they were going to get the sweepstakes award but instead guess who got it...... Nope not us.. FILLMORE CENTRAL!!??? Class C?? what the crap.. when they announced it you could see jaw in the audience drop...then the applauser started....it was almost as obviouis as when Burke...who was standing next to us I might add, won best percussion and all I could hear was "WHAT???" from Chris and Ben. But all in all a greatr time including chinese food and the jekyll and hyde movie when we got home.... It makes me really like Lucy, but I think I'll puke when I see Doran and Larissa play it.....

So school again tomorrow and all-state auditions Saturday(Yikes!)..It'll be weird being a senior there...I have a feeling it won't be as much fun as last year or the year before...all because of a certain, well... Bone knows what I'm talking about... I'm definately not a You-know-who-from-a-different-school-loving whore if you know what I mean.

And if you missed it, then you missed it... Later!!

Noh enoli!!

EEEKKK A spider!!!!

Well that was gross, I had to kill it though. It was a scary looking thing.

WOOT! First post in almost a month... I bet my one reader had all but given up on me... Let's see if she even checks this anymore, I could be talking to myself.

SO>

Way too much has happened in the last month to even begin to talk about but lets just say I've enjoyed the drum major thing, the scb thing the stud co thing and pretty much every Thing I have done so far... That is except for the homework Thing, and the college application Thing. But other things are good. Well, except for the losing football Thing that really sucks. And so does this year's senior class.. It is the year of drunken apathy as I like to call it.. Although I did find some cool not totally stupid people on SCB this weekend. But I regress.

So that's all I can think od right now.... I'm super psyched for the home football game and the super cool pep rally and the horse that I made of cardboard and my pretty dress for homecoming

so see ya later!!

Fortune Teller

So I'm at Von Maur shopping and they put in this new Fourtune Telling machine... It is Ok to choose carefully, but remember that you cannot please every one so make decisions by going with your gut feelings. Oh, and something tells me that someone else who shares your fondness of music has feelings for you, too. The only problem is that they may be shy. Your lucky number is 2 and your lucky vegetable is the zucchini.

I'm not making this up.....

Any takers all you shy music lovers out there???

Later

Blog?? Stop stomping around, stop glaring, stop making mean comments, and start WORKING FOR GOD'S SAKE... maybe then, I can worry about MY job and stop worrying about YOU bringing everyone down. Cause of death is homicide by Sue's grandmother, Lori "Krab Killer" Pirnie who failed to change Sue's water while Sue's mother was out of town. An autopsy was not available at the time, but Crab Protective Services are investigating. Funeral services and candle light vigil were held at 11:00 p.m. Friday, July 30 near the back gate of the Pirnie residence where Sue joins the other Pirnie pets that have left this world, including a half dozen hamsters. The emotional high point of the services was when those in attendence sang a stirring rendition of "Amazing Grace" only to be interupted by flashing lights and honks from the Krab Killer herself. Loving memories of Sue were shared including the time he visited Millard North High School and climbed all the way across the luch table. Sue was a brave crab, never in fear even when he was left in the band hallway after school on that very day. Though he never lived to be as big as his roomates at the Crab Shack at Oak View Mall, Sue lived a life full of climbing around and eating crab food and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

"Shut Up Sue"

Those in attendence of Sue's funeral: Katelyn Pirnie, Katie Gyhra, Catherine Bone, Lisa Johnson, and Christine Bone. Drive-by wishes were said by creepy guy in the white car with license plate NAP 902.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Sue The Boy Hermit Crab Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Masonic...

So if you want a play by play of my week see Bone's page At shutupsue.blogspot.com but I'll review my favorites...

Got to know a lot more people this year
I'm friends with Sup!!
I'm in a lot of pain because I'm so cool.
Drum majors are robots
My song kills every other song that was ever written
I spent even more of my summer with Katie Madsen
I am a "Hella Cool Marcher"
New Skin should be illegal
MN Band Should Definately have a kareoke night
Old ladies in bathrooms scare me
I will never forgive my mom for signing me up on that CHIP thing

Freshman Band Camp all this week.... So Saturday.. I went shopping with my maom and sis and got two new pairs of shoes... then I went to anna's house wearing my ridiculouly uncomfortable, but extremely sexy new pointy shoes... I was getting paid to prepare food and serve it to old russian people at a wedding party.. it was fun and we got to eat cool exotic food and by exotic, I mean stuff I haven't eaten before..Caviar...yuck.. Salmon,..not so yuck....but then we were released from our duties at 9 40 so we decided to speed downtown in the hopes of possibly seeing a glimpse of the super cool fireworks extravaganza... well we got to 15th and harney when they started going off, and traffic stopped.. so we actually had a pretty good view of evertything from the middle of the intersection... then we met up with jason in a creepy dark parking lot and got out of the Old Market a lot faster then it seems other people did.. We went to Fry's house, saw some old
"Band Buddies" and then I went home and crashed..

Today... woke up late, showered and went to the MN, or should I say Deeb Baseball game.. complete with free food., sun, and Max Fearnow for Westside... Oh and blast from the past Mr. Washington was there cause he's a coach fo the middle school team.. see cute And he helps kids.. and did I mention he still is really cute... so we saw the game.. the mustangs lost, and then we talked to Jason. now I'm all hot, kinda smelly, and a little sunburned and my family is going out to dinner with our neighbors....

Masonic in two days!!

Later...

Friday....

I should be swing dancing right now, or at least looking at ant-sized members of 311, but plans fell through and I didn't feel like battling thousands of people for blanket space.....

Instead, today was filled with doing stuff with my sister...Huhot, Jeepers Creepers 2, and Best Buy where I bought a 311 CD because I had a gift card and nothing better to spend it on...

Yesterday was good, too. I am so psyched!! A freaking 7!! So music wasn't perfect, but that was a very stressful day, and a six ain't bad!! WHOO HOOO

So about the stuff I haven't been able to tell my one faithful reader, probably Bone, here's my week in a nutshell

Tuesday: Spent all day doing drum majory things with Weak like writing letters and making copies and such. Then had an oboe lesson, and band rehearsal...Then I did very un-drumajory things with Ben, Bone, Little Jon, and Weak, like have fun wacky bowling..we skipped like school girls, and my ball got stuck in the middle of the lane...

Wednesday: I ran errands with bone, including but not limited to Kohl's, THe Great Wall, Old Navy, Petsmart, Famous Footwear with the cute smiley guy, almost every store in the mall, and the bank. Oh and albertsons.. that might be all....It was fun... and wet.

So that's all for now...If anyone does read this and wants to go to an improv comedy night and the Santa Lucia Festival downtown.. Leave some love, or a comment, which ever is easier...I would sure appreciate the love though....

Later
"Help it or something!!"

Update

The fourth wasn't as bad as I expected... My Nana and I went to get fireworks then bummed around Village Point for a while..We still didn't go to the parade, but that's ok cause it was pretty hot...Went to the NWS concert and saw Kenya and his puppy there, and got to listen to a lot of patriotic music...Then while we were doing our fireworks, our whole block just kinda came over and joined our party...I even got to play with the cute baby that lives next door...So it was a good time..

Today I went with my sis, mom, and Nana to the mall and saw most of the Bone clan there...The whole mall now knows that I "Smell like pea soup" or as Jill puts it..."Mell lika peace oupp" My mom was really confused."

I still feel like I am wasting the summer away by sitting around and not staying up very late. How did that happen??? This makes me very conscious of how much I drive. At the rate I'm going, I'll have 200,000 by next week. But anyways, I digress....Back to Amy's. So there was pitch and catching up on summers and then we watched West Side Story because that was supposed to be our show, and I had never seen it before. Well it turns out that we aren't doing it for our show, and it doesn't follow Romeo and Juliet at the end...Is it bad when you're screaming at the tv because the main character DOESN'T die?? WEll I'm upset because it's a really cool movie and would make a cool show but I head the other one was cool too, even if its not a broadway show. So then I visited my dad in the hospital and went bowling with a group.. It was fun, even if outrageously drunk guy was a bit, well, outrageous.

My schedule for the rest of the week..

Friday: LEave for Lincoln for Honors COlloquium, I don't know what a colloquium is
Saturday: Come back from Lincoln.
Sunday: Leave for Illinois and Bands of America. Get back nect Saturday....

That means my weeks pretty much over, but I want to convince someone to go to a movie tonight cause I haven't seen one for a while and there's a lot of reallty cool ones out there..

Later...

"I now pronounce you, Princess of the Band"

Not much to say...

Because not much is happening. My dad had back surgery yesterday so my days consist of waking up, taking care of the dogs, Morgan, and my Nana, then going to the hospital. So that's pretty much what the rest of the week will be like. I leave for Lincoln on Friday and get back on Saturday, then I leave for Illinois and drum major camp on Sunday.... Today's most exiting event, I was fitted for my UNIFORM... I'm so excited, white pants, cool cape, awesome plume, life doesn't get much better than an awesome uniform....ok, well maybe it does, but not by much...

Call me to hang out, I'm BORED BORED BORED BORED BORED!!!!!!

Later

I'm Back....

My week of the insightful exploration of Neraska's governmental system that is Girls State is now over, and I miss it already. I would go back tomorrow even if it meant waking up at five, showering with no pressure, eating cafeteria food, walking everywhere and putting up for way too many stupid people for a smart person's camp. so even though I haven't blogged for a week, I'll tell you all about it.

I left for Lincoln on Sunday and had to have an oboe lesson to record an audition. All went well. Then I register at Pound Hall and meet my first floor mate, Amy. She's from North Loop, and she plays the oboe....Its crazy. Then I meet Lindsey who's really loud and outgoing so it was easy to be loud and outgoing with her. When everyone else came in, they though w had been friends for years. Our floor theme was the 50's so everyone had to hula hoop as initiation. I knew everyone's names within the first half hour. Then we had some meetings and sessions but they were mostly boring. I learned a lot but I'm not goinf to bore all of you so here;s the highlights.

My roomate didn't show up, don't know why.

Stupid people:
I.e. the one;s who talk just top hear themselves during party conventions and county meetings. or i.e. the ones my floor makes fun of during town meetings. And the stupidest girl ever award goes to MAry Beth. here's her story....She went to Boy's Town for a while, but now she goes to Ralston. She knows Mr. Keiser. She ran for Secretary of State, and she makes EXTREMELY dumb comments about gambling, Omaha, roller coasters, and just about everything else. So NO ONE likes her. Her floor had a count down to when they wouldn't have to see her again. On Friday after breakfast, my floormates and I were in our lounge and Rachel who goes to Mercy runs out of her room and says "Listen to this" and turns of the radio.
DJ: "So you're at Girls State? Where are you from?"
Dumb Girl: "Well, like, i'm from Omaha, but there's a bunch of girls from little farm towns that I have never heard of and they're all, like, president of the FFA"
(Not smart to say in a place where 75% of participants come from farms)
DJ: "So Boys State is at the same time right?"
Dumb Girl: "Yeah, but we're, like, cut off from them because, like, a few years ago, I guess some girls gave them their thongs"
DJ: "Oh really?"
Dumb Girl: "Yeah, like, how do you think we get our Boys State T-shirts?"
Needless to say, Dumb Girl was Mary Beth, and MAry Beth was kicked out.

Our floor had the best skit at thursday's party, I made my acting lead debut as "Senior COunselor"

I Ran for Secretary of state, didn't make it.

I was nominated for secretary of the nationalist party convention, didn;t make it.

I tried to propose a platform regarding fine arts education in schools and stupid madame chairperson Venessa "I only do forensics and speech, have no personality or fun, thinks my crap don't stink, and wears the same white suit four days in a row, yet I still get my office and sent to Girls Nation even though no one likes me" Hatfield, passed me over everytime I raised my hand. And at that time I hadn;'t even pissed her off yet.

The one thing I did make was secretatry of our Taylor school board and banner making committe.

I was appoionted as Library COmissioner. Not director of Library Comissions, even though I ran for the third highest office... Whatever, let the hippy snob have her fun.

The best part was definately the friends I made from my floor, I can honestly say that I made 34 life long buddies who were the most fun I could have ever asked for. Our floor definately got along the best and had the most fun. I bawled when I left. Like a baby.

There's probably a lot more, but its all very overwhelming...

This happened when we were eating dinner just now. A lightenening bolt struck in the neighborhood across pacific street, and it was so close that the thunder was at the exact same time, It knocked the phone and a picture of of our wall.

Everyone call me, I'm not used to having nothing to do.

GO TAYLOR FLAMINGOS!!!

Katie

"I know you. you're from band!"
Melissa Hiykel

Blogging....

For some reason, I just haven't been in the blogging mood, but here's an update.

I hat computers. Nothing is right, Technology sucks, heck this post probably won't even work right. Oh, I I can't type so I have to keep deleting stuff... I have a scholarship application due when I register at Girls State on Sunday. Well it has to be typed or "Computer Generated" so we found an application on the internet, but everytime I type half of a paragraph about "My greatest challenge or accomplishment" the computer freezes. Oh and I tried to apply for DM camp online, and of course that didb't work either... Let's just say 515 dollars was charged to my mom's account...Three times. So I hate computers..

My week has been fun. Sis left for DC this morning.. We are nothing alike..She brought 4 bags of makeup and won't wear tennis shoes...I only brought tennis shoes.... Yesterday, Bone, the other bone and my sister and I went to Village Pointe to check it out for "Sisterly Love Day" Sheels is great, we saw Meghan Guthrie from the top of the ferris wheel and the we walked around and ate a bunch of food and played in water. Then I went to bone's and played Nintendo with the kids and baseball in the backyard where I accidently hit bone in the leg with the ball...it left a really big mark...

So tomorrow will bw busy. Here's a weekend To-do list.
Finish Scholardhip Application
Buy Campaign materials
Develop campaign platform
Study government and current events including school consolidation and agriculture
Pack all my nice clothes for GS.
Practice audtion for Hershey's thing.
Have Mother-Daughter Day on Saturday.
drive to Lincoln on Sunday, have lesson and register for girls state.

I'll be gone all week... There will be updates later

Don't miss me too much

LATER!

bored

Quite a bit has happened this weekend, but I don't have the time to talk about all of it... It all fell into two categories..Graduation, and Non-Graduation...

GRADUATION:
Everyone's parties, especially Allies that lasted about five hours, and commencement itself that made me want to cry and gave me goosebumps at the beginning and I don't know why.

NON-GRADUATION:
Going to VI afterwards was a blast and all the crap that I have to get done before Girls State is not a blast..It sucks. I though summer was the time for no responsibilities...

Today: A group of us is going to Mahoney. Unfourtuneately, I only get to stay for about two hours because we have a stud Co meeting....Once again, damn responsibility.

LATER

No more school...

So I haven't posted about this week, but I can't really remember much besides the last two days. I had finals, and the only memorable one was math...In fact, it was so memorable that it almost gave me my first B, but luckily I peer tutor and that gave me the .7% I needed to keep a one. I guess getting about a 50% on the final doesn't help much.

So yesterday was Tenor End of School Party Day. We started at Buffalo Wild Wings and migrated to Cougar Lanes where I bowled the best game I have in a long time 119!! I beat everyone else cause I got two strikes in the 10th frame. Then we went to Village Inn because it wouldn't be a tenor get together without pie. Then we went ot Zorinski where Rose and I had to use the restroom, but they were locked. Predictable hilarity ensues.

So then I got home around 9 and my dad is freaking out because some people drove up, through plates on our yard, and then picked them up and drove away... My dad thinks they got the wrong house, but then we discover that there are people hiiding behind this huge tree that my neighbors have... So one of them walks around the circle and its definately Michaela, then Amelia joins her and they run towards the house, equipped with tp. So my phone rings and I'm freaking out, but I try to catch them anyways, even though i'm laughing way too hard. Well, my mom gets angry because I'm "Ruining all their fun". So I find Amelia and Mickey and their like act surprised. So to please my mom, I let them continue. Well they come in my house instead and ask me about my day... Well I'm not in IB for nothing... My dad says there were like ten people the first time, and Mickey and Amelia are only two, so my Higher Level math skills thell me something is up. Well i play along so as not to "ruin their fun", even when Mickey's "Mom" calls twice. So then they have to go home and they ask me to walk them to their car..

Well surprise, surprise, there's tp every where and plates with writing and even tortillas... They even helped me clean up.. It was some kind of congratulatory DM thing, but there were also alot of jokes that have accumulated over the year...

So then there's today and I woke up a little early and went to take a shower, well my mom comes in my room and is really surprised I'm awake well i go to plug in the blow dryer and chuckles bursts in my room yelling and then Weak and Tyler follow.. I was really scared. So I got ready in five minutes and we all went to IHOP with the waiter with no personality who wore Western Wear. It was a lot of fun and a great way to end the year....

By the way, It doesn't feel like the year is over. I guess it'll hit me when I have nothing to do on monday....

Have a great weekend!!

LATER

Not bad for a Monday...

Here's my Monday in chronological order...

6:15 - woke up slightly later thatn usual
7:30 - Had NHS Committee meeting..Became director of Mr./Ms. Mustang.
8:00 - Went to orchestra
8:50 - Went home and studied for IB Music test
10:45 - Went to Micaela's house for pre-test picnic
12:15 - Went to IB Music Test at Boy's town
2:15 - Fire Alarm goes off with an hour to go in the test.
3:38 - Finally finish test
3:40 - Check voice mail
3:41 - Find out I made Drum Major
3:41 and thirty seconds - scream like crazy
4:00 - drive to the Boy's Town lake and watch Svingen and Walter jump in.. Went over to Mallory's and finished the script while we waited for everyone else to get there. Filming to much longer than needed, but it was a lot of fun.. Especially the part where we all went to runza in our costumes... At least the drive thru guy realized they were costumes... Then I went home and got ready to go to 88 Improv.. The first half was great, except for their opening act who was a pilot stand up comedian.. And that was his only joke..The silence was painful.. WEll at intermission, I recieved a phone calll from a very frantic mother who wanted us to come home right away, so we jumped through puddles trying to find my car and headed back to West O. L street was atrocious and there were more than a couple times where I could not see no hear anything.. BUT WHAT AN ADVENTURE... So I definately need to go back to The Rock June 26 to see another 88 Improv show.

SUNDAY:
Woke up early to start studying for music... Had family b-day party after cleaning my room and then headed to Micaela's for a study group. We listened to a bunch of music and quizzed each other and even had Erik Jensen come over to help us out a bit..He lives across the street. So now I'm home and i DEFINATELY have to study some more.. The test is tomorrow, but I'm coming to school cause I have a meeting at 7 30 and I want to play in band,.. Oh and there's the very slim chance that drum major will be announced tomorrow morning...once again, very slim chance. So Music calls I 'll tell you all how it went tomorrow.

LATER

I hope you're reading this...

I'm going to try to say this with the least amount of cussing as possible

You know who you are....
You are a spiteful, spoiled, hypocritical, slimy, decietful, horrible, STD infested person.. It's our final project in French and it has to be a video with some historical content so we have "the affair of the necklace interlaced in our french discotheque partying" It's gonna be great. I met with my group tonight and we have most of the script done. Tomorrow is costume shopping at Goodwill and Saturday is filming. Monday and Tuesday are editing, and Wednesday is opening night.

So this week in a rather large nutshell....

Monday: ToK project with Lily. Of the 4 hours she was here, 30 mins was spent on the project. The rest was talking about people and senior pictures, and having to run to the bathroom to keep from peeing our pants from excessive laughter.

Tuesday: Final band conert. I was eexcited for it all day, and it was pretty fun, but not as much as I had hoped. Good thing our songs rocked thouhg. Those were some of my favorite from all year.

So tomorrow's my birthday. All of you faithful adorers have 12 hours to buy me lots of presents. What ever happened the that Allie and Katie fan club. .THey dropped the ball, even when I had a target in mind. Oh well.

The rest of the week:
Thursday: BIRTHDAY!!!!
Friday: Drum Major auditions....AHHH!
Saturday: French Filming
Sunday: Family B-day
Monday: IB MUSIC TEST ....AHHHH!!!

so there's a lot of AHHHH!!!! We went Mom's Day shopping and I got a little outfit for the Big Band Dance...Everyone should go, its the best dance of the year,....

Then I came home and told myself that I was going to study all night, but I didn't. I got about halfway through my notecards... there's still tomorrow except....

Tomorrow is Mom's day and family is coming over the exact time that I am required to be at orchestra rehearsal, and in my sister's lasting tradition, "why have two parties when you can just have one".. my nephew Justin's b-day will be combined with mother's day, just like my nephew Aj's is with Easter, and my two sisters Lori and Christine put theirs together too.. I guess I'm special because I have my own special party.

Speaking of... 12 days till the big 1-7 and the fact that nothing really exciting happens when you're 17.. still trying to find out what my present is...

Have a good night.

Such a good day...

School was same old, same old, but I got to play in band today...Yippee!! Then after school, the concert band placements were up, there were a lot of surprises, I got first in Wind Ensemble, and those poor seniors, I don't know what happened, but not a one of them even made a band :( I feel so sorry for them... Mark Hampton was almost in tears when he told me...

Then we had a Super Kool History Review Session, It was fun because I love Mrs. McVicker... Then we did notecards outside while Julia tried to round up boys to go dancing with us. Well that was a huge failure and I ended up being VERY late to pick up Amanda.. I ran home, got socks and sped to Amanda's and Michaela's then got gas and picked up Anna.

So we get to the Old Market and try to find a parking spot, easier said than done. I found one, put my blinker on to wait for the guy to leave and just as I'm about to turn, some old geezer pulls right in...If I would have gotten out of the car, I would have choked him!!!! So after another twenty minutes we find a spot and go to SPaghetti Works. We played the machine that pridicts your "Attractibility" or what not and Julia got "UNRESISTABLE" the highest one, guess what I got... "BLAH" the lowest one.. Yippee for me... Well then we all had really good pasta and realized we were late for the lesson a the swing dancing club.

Oh and it has been decided that I WILL get my mini Buddha from that store in the Old Market Passageway because All of us IB kids get to bring a good luck charm for our tests and what beter way to impress Mrs. Buda than with a Buddha of our own!!!

We rushed to the Eagle's club and got in, and sat for a while, because as I said, Julia is a failure at getting boys to do things. So it was me, Amanda, Michaela, Anna, Julia, Larissa, and Jason. And Jason, who had been really cool all night turned into an IB Boy Fun-Hater, just like all the other IB boys, but I guess he's still cool. Well there was a lot of dancing to be had, my personal best was the first one with a guy that everyone said looked like Mr. Kasner, but I think his name was Jim. The rest of the time I kinda made a fool of myself because it was my first time and evryone else was really good.. Except for the guy in the green shirt who I danced with in the snowball thing, he sucked, i.e. he had NO rhythm. There was also a girl named Emily there who i used to be in orchestra with and who plays the oboe, she's nice.. So I am now officially prepared for the BIG BAND DANCE NEXT FRIDAY!!! WHOO HOO!!!! I can't wait, I think Im going to go shopping tomorrow. It'll be great but I also have a dress rehearsal that I hope Caitrin remembers to pick me up for, and I have to study SO MUCH HISTORY!!! AHHHH Oh well I'll be fine, I knew a lot of the answers in the review session today....

Have a great early morning,......

Not much to say....

As the days of school decrease, so does the homework, and the days until my history test AAAAHHHHHHHH... Julia made a good point though... If you know too much, you'll want to answer a little bit of all the questions and won't be able to decide on which one to answer. So where is the fine line between knowing too much, and not knowing enough??

So today:
Small ToK again, but it was fun too.
Played in orchestra... Bringing in the reserves (alternates) as Jordan puts it.
Math was there
As was history
Oh and Astronomy
And French too, not much happened today
Had VERY small english class as every one made up a timed write, that was fun too
Advisement
Bio-not very exciting
SCB meeting. I heard you can't do SCB and Student Council, WHY NOT I ask .... Plus I have band anyways and that's not a problem with SCB, but it may be with Stud CO. So we'll see what happens... Why do I want to be so involved anyways??

Tonight:
I'm skipping Yoga, filling out the Section leader form and going to a history review, I have one tomorrow night too, TEST IS SO CLOSE... I am freaking out... Well I'm hungry and I have A LOT of studying to do.

Have a good night ...

Update....

So I haven't blogged in a while here's the update......

IB History Test in 7 days!!!

Drum major auditons etc, are just starting up.... I hate this time of year because everyone gets catty and petty and they say mean things...damn competition.

School is winding down and I'm ready to be done....to bad there are still IB tests and finals...

This week has actually been pretty boring, that's probably why I haven't blogged.

Today's semihighlights:<br prom decorations
That's pretty much it.

Saturday: Woke up nice and early to help at MNMS with the Solo/Ensemble thing, it was OK.
Had a nice family lunch at Applebee's
Went shopping at Oak View
Got ready for the Concert and headed to Amanda's house
Had pizza
Went to concert to discover a line a mile long that we got to stand in, in the cold.
Finally got into the concert, saw 88Improv, which is the funniest thing ever
Matthew West is my new favorite artist.
Went to Amanda's to see the end of Saturday Night Live..
Amanda injured herself on Kelli's car, three times
Went to After Prom...It was really cool and fun, but the events there reinforced my decision to not go to prom by myself...Yeah for being smart/sensible
Came home and slept.

Sunday: Well technically some of Saturday was Sunday, but anyways...
Woke up at 11 30, showered, went to orchestra
Had awful rehearsal with awful headache due to lack of food, sleep and oxygen to the brain
Came home and had dinner
Played cards with Lergie/procrastinated homework
Watched SImpsons/procrastinated homework
Realized I shouldn't have put off home work, more than I realized.
Ended this blog due to the amount of homework.

Have a good night everybody

Song in Katie's Head, because she doesn't have her I was overcome this afternoon during Biology by the fact that I need job and if I want one, I need it soon....I am tired of relying on my parents for all of my monetary needs. SO. Here are todays applications that I picked up ..... Myself I might add, I am becoming so grown up....

Scheels Cashier and or "General store employee"
Dietze Music, I think I don't have a chance cause I'm not 18
Papa Murphy's, or hell as Bone likes to call it.

Right now Scheels is my first choice. well or Dietze, But Papa Murphy's is the most realistic as awful as that would be Bone, we could still work together, maybe.,.....

Well That's all on the job search, I'll keep you posted...one place I know I do not want to work is Red Robin, after yesterday, the mention of the name make me hate birds and burgers and Afganistan and anything remotely related, Right Bone?? J/K Amy.. I also don't want to work at Maggie Moo's because I saw Maggie herself standing on the corner of 120th and Center.. that would be me, or I might be the Ten Cent Burrito Man at Taco Johns.

So update on yesterday's TO DO List:
History Documents done, but three more to take their place today.
Outline almost done
Notes still unorganized
World Lit Paper still not started
No way that scrapbook is being touched till after school

So here's today's new list:
3 History Documents
Finish Outline
Organize notes
Read and answer French Questions
Start World Lit Paper For God's Sake!!

Someday the update will be that it is all finished, maybe that day will be tomorrow.....That day will probably not be tomorrow....

What Katie is listening to at this moment:
Emperor Waltz - Johan Strauss II

LATER!!

Bore-Ing

I'm bored because today was a rather boring day. Not much exciting happened. I had school, I had a timed write...blast.... but I didn't have an oboe lesson, apparently my teacher is swamped...Amen to that. Oh well, recitals over and I don't have much to work on since I know Symphony (LEARN YOUR MUSIC STRINGS! WE COULD GET STUFF DONE< YOU STINKING MIDDLE SCHOOLERS!!!!!) so I was going to use that time to do homework, guess what happened....

Nothing. Nothing happened except that I didn't do homework, until now that is, and I'm still putting that off.

I'm getting lazy AHHHHH!! Now is not the time, I must work.....

I had something really funny to put in here and now I can't remember to save my life....

To Do list for tonight, even though its half over....

2 History documents
History outline - finish
World Lit Paper 1- start
Organize history notes, even if I'm not going to start studying....
Read Bio
Update Scrapbook??? On the way there, my "I heart U" sign flew out of the window and scared the bejeebus out of me and Bone but I laughed the hardest I have in a long time.

Bowling was fun, Chuckles won a dollie from the claw machine and I got two strikes in a row on the tenth frame, too bad it wasn't one of the five times we had colored pins. I think the lady at the desk was tired of answering our calls.

Afterwards we went over to "a friend's House" where a girl named Jessica tried to get ahold of her amigo Tiquito, but Tiquito kept ignoring her, or calling back for like three seconds...weird, but it was "sizable" fun....

Today was orchestra and not doing homework, I'll pay for it this week....

Some weekend observations:
When will school be over?
Life is getting better, I think
P-word is in less than a week, I've given up hope.
Amelia's philospohy on boys sucks when you want one right now and not, "someday"
I've accepted my fate of ending up lonely with a bunch of cats, but like I told Allie, I'm allergic to cats so I'll end up lonely with a bunch of cats and sneezing.
My B-day's in less than a month
I really should have done some homework, I think I have early Senioritous
I found the CD I looked for for an hour on Tues, It was right where it should have been.
Some people in Symphony suck, another case of the "there's no one else syndrome" why not my section??
Egmont is no longer my favorite song, Thanks for butchering it "kids who cannot play"
The airport is boring unless you have a friend to talk to
I am bad at thinking on my feet, especially when cornered on a phone
In reference to above, Dumb people don't know when you're bad at thinking on your feet.
I wanted to go to the baseball game
I also want to go to the zoo
I really really really want school to be over,or at least my History test
I probably have make up work from Friday
I miss the guys from last year
Some guys from this year, named Big Jeff, are assholes and make my mom mad
My sister can be quite the brat, so much so that I don't feel like talking to her.
My mom's reasoning for things is "Rediculous"

Well, that's all for now

LATER!!

Districts, Districts, YIPPEE for Districts

So district day today, whoohoo!!

So here's the breakdown of the contest....Me running around a lot cause all of my things were really close together.

But here's a more detailed account...

I get there at around 12 30 to practice... Ann's there and informs me that Doran is sick and she is not going to do our Quintet. My first thought: KLILL HER..
But she's really sick and I feel bad for her, luckily, or not so luckily, we find a replacement...a saxophone, in the key of D, replacing a French horn in the key of F, in a Baroque song...SAXOPHONES WEREN'T INVENTED BACK THEN!!!! So half an hour before showtime, we practice, and its not that bad, but Shep has to copy parts because we also don't have a score, that poor judge, so instead of going to the quintet, scheduled at 1 54, I go to the choir sextet at 2 06. So after the choir performane I go to the Quintet room and realize I left water, reeds, and tuner in the choir room, thank God for Smigelsky cause she went and got them for me and even got back in time to watch.. So there's a billion people in a small room with Watermelon Man blasting from the room next door and we're forced to listen to Fremont's Quintet..>Seriously this song could be used to torture terrorists because as Erik Jensen puts it, "THe oboe sounded like a dying duck". So then it was our turn and we did very well, and I talked to a bunch of people I know who were in the room including that one guy from Wesleyan who I can't remember his name but the only thing he said was "Katie, tell the Andrews hi for me" and I said "will do" but I still can't remember his name.....
Well then It was solo time and I was freakingout. I had to wait forever and hear some good ones (Erica) and some not so good ones (Erin) I'd like to think that I was somewhere in the middle cause it went pretty well...(More evidence for my "should be second chair argument" but whatever) and then Brugler and I went to see what the results were because of course, I was just about the last one in the contest. so here goes:

Drumroll Please...............

Choir Sextet: 2..I hope my playing didn't affect that...
Woodwind Qunitet: 1 Whoohoo a hole half hour of practicing WOOT!
Oboe Solo: 1 YES!!

So districts was decidedly bettter this year than last. Now its time for Chipotle and bowling yeah!

Later

P.S> Mrs. Tape who's son plays the oboe and her other son plays the trumpet in my orchestra was there. Let's just say she's ....different... She watche dus MN oboes to inspire young Ben, and she took pictures of us, us who are not her children, and then she cornered me in the rain in the parking lot without an umbrella and talked to me about how her son wouldn't be able to get into Cornell, but maybe he could go to Ithaca.. Mrs. Tape, I really don't know....and I'm really wet.

TOO MANY KIDS!!!!

Yesterday was fun, but it was FULL of kids, spoiled kids, kids whinig to their parents kids who think they are too cool to talk to you, but then there were cute ones who liked to dance and worried about their little crushes on high school boys, I'll explain later....

First, It was band district day, we all went to Bellvue West and we had a preety good performance, minus the stand crashing is the middle. Still don't know what we got though. I'm thinking somewhere it the 1 category. More districts today, solo, quintet, and choir girls sextet, not necessarily in that order.

So, to the kids, well, I volunteered to help Julia with a carnival at Rohwer Elementary. It was fun, I got to run the "Strike Out" game, by myself for a long time. They should put a warnign on that game that you must be in top pyhsical condition to be in charge because little kids who can't throw still play and they miss and because the parking lot is slanted, you run, a lot, and chase after the balls. And there's a bar you have to duck under. My legs hurt, a lot. a lot alot alot a lot. But that's not the only reason BECAUSE.....

There was alos the Brownie lock in, that I got to just in time for Them to earn their dance badge. THat means our little group got to make up a dance and perform it for all the other little girls. You can not imagine how much little girls scream when they are excited. Bu they had every right to be excited because our dance was THE BEST!! It had every dance move that a little girl could imagine, and because their coach..me.. is a super band nerd, each step was held for excactly eight counts, in accordance to the music,.... And the cherry on the sundae was our favorite move that one girl named Kendall thought of the goes like this.....Every one stops moveing and yells.."HEY SCOTT" and they stick their tongues out at him...and the big finale....Everyone stands with their partner and yells. "Hey Scott, you're not gonna win!!" It was great... but it caused some problems when Scott wasn't showing up and they came up one at a time every five seconds going "Katie, what if Scott doesn't come" and I had to reassure them that he was in fact coming. But it was good, I've never jumped so much in my entire life.

Time to go shower and dress for today, District time, I'm kinda freaking out...... Oh well, it'l be good.

Anyone want to go bowling tonight?? leave a comment or call my cell

What is wrong with me?

I miss the old me, the responsible one who did homework all night when needed, who didn't care about stupid high school drama, the one who laughed. where did that go????

Now I skip homework or do it at the last minute, I never study in advance even though I know I should. Woah, woah, it never stops...

Homework, school, stress, teen agnst, it goes on forever. We'll take things one at a time.

Homework: I have some, and that's enough to make me angry. And just when I finish one thing, another comes and takes its place..."Just one more month", little voice keeps telling me. And then the other voice says "Yeah a month full of IB tests auditions and finals" Damn you little voice number two.

School: See above, it realates a lot, but then there's other stuff like CAS, whcih by the way, I am so sorry to Becca and Walterfor not being able to go to the Goodwill place, that was the most bottles I have ever seen.

Stress: OAYO audition today, not exactly the new "Best Audition of my Life" pretty "OK" well, little "ok" not capital letters....Who needs scales anyway??

Teen Agnst: I'd like to think I am above getting mad a people for stupid things, but lately the things don't seem that stupid and i'm acting more and more like a snobby teenage girl, maybe its strees, maybe its nature, maybe its that damn P word thats coming up in May, whatever it is, people who I thought would never get on my nerves are, and I'm losing respect for people left and right, I'm procrastinating more, and pushing responsibility on to other people. I'm just becoming lazy and lackadaisical and just don't care any more. SUmmer can't come soon enough just because it will all be over. I just need a break, and fast, I need one fun night that lets me forget everything I worry about and have everything go perfect, just once. Maybe I'm not the 30 year old in teenage clothing that I used to think I was.

On the flip side:
Had a good Yoga presentation, I think (hope) that Mills liked it.
Classes were short, that's always a plus.

Feeling the need for a nap but.. homework and oboe are calling my name....test and recital tomorrow. Must fight irresponsible idiot inside, need to work....

Later

P.S. It all starts with our NSBA Band Contest which was pretty white bread-ish and not very exciting. That is, until the bus ride home when the driver discovers a skunk under her chair. He wouldn't leave so he escaped when we got back to Millard North. That's right Pepe Lepeu himself, or Arnold as Jordan wants to call him, or maybe it was Arthur, was our new bus mascot.

Then Bone and I decide we are tired of staying home and we are going to do something fun, so we decide on bowling. Unfourtuneately, everyone and their brother already has plans, because very few people answered their phones, but we reached Amelia and Ben and suckered them into coming with us. Here's where the first gutter comes in, We were driving through Pac Meadows cause we thought maybe Amy could go with us but she wasn't home. So we drive by the trail and this couple is holding hands and being all cute, In fact Bone said, "Aw, isn't that cute" well I have decided that I might as well become a nun because I am going to be lonely my entire life and I precede to almost drive off the road because as I said..."I was so jealous, I drove into a gutter" Little did we know that that was the first of many gutters.

So we go bowling and discover that a group full of boys are sharing the lane next to us, well as the night progresses, we discover that boy with Initial G is very cute, we also discover that they are sophomores and go to Gretna. Well, Boy with Initial G, which we later find out in Greg, is a very good bowler and her gets many a strike while I do not get so many, so after one of those strikes I proclaimed that again, "I was so jealous, I drove my ball into the gutter" oh buts there's more.

So we finish bowling and start to leave, but I am a claw machine addict and began to play, well, I couldn't concentrate because Gretna boys kept looking at us and talking. I know this because Bone kept saying "those Gretna boys are looking at us and talking again" well I decide that my scared lttle butt should do something semi-"wild" as Bone puts it, and I decide that we should ask for a phone number, but no, my scaredy-cat little girl inside freaked out and I ran away...to the convent it is!!!......well this made me so upset and regretful that I almost raninto another gutter exclaiming.."I'm so regretfull, i almost ran into a gutter" and that is three gutter in one day.

Then we went to Amelias and ate popcorn and watched tv for a bit, and talked, there was a lot of talking.

Its now time to sleep and discover more self-loathing....What a baby.....Oh well its a step in the right direction, right??

Later

P.S. He was sooooo cute.

What a day....

And that's all there is to describe, one really long, really awful, trying, awful, long day.....and man I am glad its over......

Well first lets start with yesterday, went to Yoga, there were three of us, but it was relaxing and afterward, the teacher was chatty. So then we went and bought DAve a present and were going to bring it to his house. Well, I have decided that I am no longer able to give directions. It tool us half an hour to find his house, and all of the was my fault, I take full responsibility. We wouldn't have found it at all if Mallory hadn't called her mom. So we went over there and things went as well as could have been expected."

So today...(or as I like to call it: Hell)
It started off great, school was fine, sometimes even pleasant and fun, then the "Real Fun" begins. So for some reason I was really angry after school, then I forgot my keys in my house and had to run back in and get them, but in the process left my purse in the garage. Then I picked up Rachel and Sarah, vented, and we tried to return home. Well it turns out there was a creepy mexican guy in a green car (CMGGC) and he was right next to us and Sarah was getting freaked out, well "CMGGC" waved to Rachel and SHE WAVED BACK, Rule number 1, DO NOT WAVE TO CREEPY MEXICAN GUYS IN GREEN CARS!, and the he rolls down the window and tells us to roll ours down Rule Number 2: DO NOT ROLL YOUR WINDOW DOWN WHEN CREEPY MEXICAN GUYS IN GREEN CARS TELL YOU TO! so we didn't, apparently, Rachel was aware of that rule. So then instead of going straight like he was, on Blondo, I turned on 120th, because every one knows Rule Number 3: AVOID CREEPY MEXICAN MEN IN GREEN CARS AT ALL COSTS! so I thought we were safe, but I forgot Rule Number 4: NEVER ASSUME YOU ARE SAFE WHEN CREEPY MEXICAN GUYS IN GREEN CARS ARE INVOLVED! This rule is proven in the Parking Lot Postulate which states: ANY CREEPY MEXICAN GUY IN A GREEN CAR WILL TURN AROUND IN APARKING LOT IN ORDER TO FOLLOW YOU WHEN YOU DO NOT ROLL DOWN YOUR WINDOW. I have seen this postulate proven before my very eyes when, in fact, the CMGGC turned around in a parking lot in order to follow me because I did not roll down my window.....At this time I had called Bone in order to tell her of my situation because it is strangely reminisent of something that happened on one CHristine Bone's Birthday......But in this phone call, I made the mistake of ignoring Parking Lot Postulate Subarticle A, Amendment 2, DO NOT YELL INTO THE PHONE AT YOUR FRIEND"S MOTHER WHEN SAID CMGGC TURNS AROUND IN A PARKING LOT TO FOLLOW YOU BECAUSE YOU DID NOT ROLLDOWN YOUR WINDOW! I promptly yelled into the phone, "OH MY GOD ITS THE GREEN CAR GUY!!", to which Mrs. Bone replied. "Who is the guy in the green car?" TO which I replied, "There is a guy in a green car following us" to which she replied, "Is he cute?" And then astonished, I replied, "No he is a Creppy Mexican Guy in a Green Car" and so on and so forth. Well I thought that I was safe because CMGGC was a fair distance behind us, once again, I ingnored Rule Number 4. I then realized that CMGGC must have seen me when I turned on to Dodge, because CMGGC also turned on to Dodge. THis led me to remember Rule Number 5: CREEPY MEXICAN GUYS IN GREEN CARS HAVE EYES. Thus, according to Rule Number 5, said CMGGC, saw me, with his eyes, turn onto dodge. QED. Well I assumed that rush hour traffic was enough cover to escape the clutches of CMGGC. NO, Its not, because Rule Number 6 clearly states: CREEPY MEXICAN GUYS IN GREEN CARS ARE TOO SNEAKY TO ESCAPE< THEY ARE EVEN TOO SNEAKY FOR RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. Hence rush hour traffic did not deter the CMGGC. In fact he sae me, WITH HIS EYES!. turn on to 156th street and he, turned onto 156th street, because he is obviously familr with Rule Number 7: CREEPY MEXICAN GUYS IN GREEN CARS WHO ARE FOLLOWING YOU MUST, IN FACT, FOLLOW YOU....And follow me he did, all the way to the Amaco. This is where I took advantage of Rule Number 8: TRAFFIC RULES DO NOT APPLY TO THOSE WHO ARE BEING CHASED BY PEOPLE OF THE CREEPY MEXICAN GUY IN A GREEN CAR VARIETY. Because I broke every law I could think of when I turned very sharply in front of a big red SUV in order to escape the clutches of the CMGGC. I mean this car was big...and red, and I turned without a signal because I have learned from past expiriences that signals get you in trouble. so I in fact did escape the CMGGC and just to be sure, I was going to drive to Bone's house where I told her to wait on her front porch with a shotgun but Sarch had to be home by six...I drove home to get my purse by myself, and I jumped at every green car I saw.......

Then comes the Battle of the Bands which was good at times (*Cough* very few times) but at others, both sucked and blew, at the same time. None more than the performance of The Weather Underground where literally half the audience left while the other half, that felt bad, myself included, sat and talked or covered their ears with their hands....Sadly (why am I saying sadly? IT ROCKED!)the most entertaining part of the night was when Kelly, Amanda, Amelia and I created our own "Air Hypocritical Jeb" and I must say I play a mean "Air drum set" I played with so much passion that I hurt my elbow again....I now enter retirment from the air drumming profession.

Well then we went to Starbucks and talked for a long time and told stories much like the ones I am telling now only with less rules.

Now it is very much past my bedtime and I am injuring and tiring my fingers which I guess I need tomorrow...

TO A NEW DAY, CAUSE IT CAN"T GET ANY WORSE THAN THIS ONE!!

Later

P.s. I also got the standard mothering (or is it smothering) from Mrs. Turetsky who says I should go to prom and ask any sophmore or *gasp* Freshman I know because they will be happy.....whatever

I thought today was going to be a good one...

And it was for the most part, until 5th hour..

I was in the happy bliss of knowing nothing for a very long time and it was good, I watched the Oklahoma Wind Symphony in 2nd hour after a hilarious rehearsal with my quintet. OU was good, really good. Then I went to History because I got to miss math!! There, we had a tornado drill and Mrs. McVicker gave us juice pouches and we got to make a food run while making fun of the president's oress conference.."Those analogies are false....." so then there was astronomy with the weird sub who told me all about his like in New York, and then lunch, with an awful oriental bar....

And then on the way back from lunch I found out that a friend of mine's dad died last night....It was a really big shock, I feel really sorry for him and wish I knew him a little bit better to help him out.

Tonights a yoga night but a bunch of us IB kids are going over to his house afterwards with some comfort food. This kinda thing makes me realize that if anything bad were to happen to me, I have several groups of friends who would probably be like a second, third, or fourth family to me: The Quartet, IB, and Band...I guess I'm really lucky.

God Bless

SO MUCH TO DO!

Happy hump-day to all and a pleasant one it was.

Highlights:
*Getting to skip part of history to play with choir.
*Watching a movie in French
*Finishing up our Pork-Chop party in Biology and screaming when a part of a pig brain came flying at my face.
*Helping set up the stage after school and being handsomely rewarded with leftover cookies.

Well I guess the day was pleasant until seventh hour when I came into class in the happy fog of thinking you have no homework and then realizing that your Extended Essay OUtline is due in two days and you haven't started....researching, or even seriously thinking about your subject... I've gone by the philosophy, if it doesn't matter right now, do a half-assed job.....That's why Higher level classes are taking a back seat until finals, AFTER the standard level tests are over. That's also why the Extended Essay is on the back burner because I have the summer to do it. And my piano class is still sitting in it's nicely wrapped package that I got in September....It takes five weeks to do it.....minimum, There are five weeks of shool left, damn. So maybe I need a new philosophy. maybe I need to learn how to spell philosophy cause I don't know if that's right.

And of course, the idea to blog was great, cause I just don't have enough to do already...(sarcasm meter starts to smoke).

On top of all this, I'm contemplating wearing a sign around school....STILL DATELESS FOR PROM. DESPARATE. WILL TAKE ANYTHING...well, maybe not anything....damn these standards.. oh well if I keep thinking about school I can get really worried about that instead. AND WILL I EVER GET TO READ MY COOL NEW BOOK???? Magic Eight Ball says "looks doubtful" damn....damn damn damn damn.....I need the weekend, bad..

Later

P.S> It really pisses me off when Fuller gets UBER BAND TEACHER on us. Like we did him a favor, yet he doesn't think we ccan set up chairs properly.....It doesn't take a doctorate in music education to load a cart stand....At least Shep gave us "Handfuls" of cookies....even if they all were raisin....and don't even get me started on that...Fuller lied, maybe it does take a doctorate to tell the difference between chocolate and raisins...hmmmm I wonder if thats on the course syllabus...

P.P.S> Wouldn't UBER BAND TEACHER be a great super hero?? Ihaven't seen any research about that one, so I'll just assume its true now, but you know what happens when you assume.....

Well if this is how excited I am for Tuesday, one of the least exciting days of the week, you can just imagine what Friday will be like....

So here's the highlights of today (not very exciting):
*Single-handedly getting Mr. Hutfles "Off Topic" for a significant amount of time and learning about cool books about math (oxymorons abound).
*Buying said books immediately after school.
*Having a student teacher visit in History (and we all know how I feel about student teachers...though this one was not one of the ones I was feeling).
* Getting bonus points for reciting french poem while sounding, smart, spohisticated, and well, French.
*Doing absolutely nothing in English
*Dissecting the private parts of a pig in Biology (Ouch!)
*Recycling after school with Cassie, BY OURSELVES for a majority of the time which led to Cardboard Box Soccer and lots of noise
*and, BLOGGING whoohoo!!!

Now comes the most exciting part, HOMEWORK...that'll take up most of my day as will reading my new books (The main reason why I'm excited) Try not to talk to me till the books done, I probably won't talk back...(There's over 700 pages, I won't talk for a while.)
NIGHT ALL!!

A case of the Mondays

So as the title implies, I was definately suffering from the beginning-of-the-week-blues.

So that's why this post is gonna be pretty boring, cause I had a pretty boring day it went something like this......

Wake up, Class, Class, Class, Class, Class, Lunch, Class, Class, Fire drill, Class, NHS project...

I almost forgot about that last one, and I wish I would have because I am definately suffering from quartet withdrawl, but it seems that now one was there anyways, hmmmmmm

SO lessons were delayed a bit and they were only a half hour long. I arrived at UNO to see that OAYO auditions start today and I have yet to practice, Yeah for a late audition date and a guaranteed Symphony spot, because THERE"S NOBODY ELSE. As much as all this competion sucked, its gonna suck even more when the whole section is brought down by oh three people who play like they've NEVER SEEN AN OBOE BEFORE!!

So then I had to go copy apiece of music but I couldn't copy at UNO and one Baker's didn't have a machine so I went to Lakeside wher I promptly wasted more time by getting Starbucks.

So then I went home and did homework, I'm all caught up with every audition or application I have to mail, but UI just realized I'm late with some emails. Oh well there's always tomorrow.....So thats it for my Monday, God save me if tomorrow is anything like today.....

Good Night and have a Pleasant Tomorrow!!

P.s. A new 2004 leg shaving award goes out to Cat, because her legs don't feel like one, for a little while at least...

HEY BONE
SHAKE YOUR TUBA
SHAKE YOUR TUBA
Do do dod oddood ddodoa sdodododod doadod
And THAT"S how it goes........

HAPPY EASTER!!

So lets take a look at my weekend, shall we?

I've already talked about Friday so we'll start with yesterday..

I slept till noon, still trying to fet rid of the side effect of Zyrtec, and the allergies are not much better. I went shopping with my mom and got a couple new outfits, one of which I might wear tomorrow if the mood strikes me. So after supershopping, we met the Lergs at some sports bar to watch the College Championships. I was really excited to see Little Jeff's sisters cause they are fun, and Little Jeff's friend cause he is cute. But unfourtuneately, Ugly Horse-Faced girls were there and so was their mom who is a snooty witch...In case I haven't mentioned, they are also a house family... So the night was kind of a bust because Maine lost and all you could see on the screen was a shadow of Young Horse-Face Girl all over Robo, (the GUY WHO STAYS WITH HER!!) because she was right in front of the screen. She kept yakking and he was really trying to watch the game, but whatever....plus there are rumors about relationships, eww gross I don't even want to know... so then my mom and I went grocery shopping for Easter and I found out that my mom wasn't getting us easter baskets so she bought candy right there...it was fun....

So today, Easter!!. All the Lergs came over and my mom cooked enough to feed an army in her typical italian way, So we ate and sat around and talked and watched Kindergarten Cop for half the day... Jeff's friend Joey is adorable and super nice too bas he won't be here May 1st... What is it about guys from catholic schools?? (and he's from Michigan..coincidence??) anyways so they left to take Mr. Lerg to the Airport and my family went to my sister's house for my nephew Ajs 12th birthday..Kids growup so fast..... so that was fun, he got a motorized scooter. we ate cake and came home with souvenirs from my other sister's wedding in Hawaii. So that was my weekend now I'm attempting to start homework and dreading going to school tomorrow....Why do I hate Mondays so badly??

Girl's Night Out

Last night was a typical girls night out including movie, ice cream, and a trip to the mall....

So we started with Chipotle for dinner which was crowded and reminded us of Nothin but Noodles, but at least the food was good and there were places to sit.

Then, because Pirnie is Queen of the Wimps, we went to TCBY for ice cream and Ms. Boring got vanilla....LIVE A LITTLE!!

So we went to the mall because yesterday was Little Jeff's birthday and I needed a present...Thank God for Gift Certificates. So after aimless wandering, we looked at the crabs and found out that Sue is depressed. Well, I think its a marketing ploy and if they really thought your crab was in such danger, they wouldn't let you buy only one...Anyways, Sue has been just fine for about five months now while Amy's crab only lasted a week, although that may be because of the VERY frequent baths its was given.

So after the mall, we went to the movie, Ella Enchanted. It was like torture because I have a severe problem with watching movies after six o clock in the evening. I fall asleep, bad, especially if its some really boring or PREDICTABLE movie thats just like every romance fairy tale you've ever seen before in your life. Its even worse when you're on allergy meds that make you drowsy. Only exciting or scary movies after six from now on!!

I also decided to skip Julia's B-day because of my doped up state and the fact that I still had to have family b-day time for Little Jeff. So I went home, ate cake and promptly fell asleep at about midnight thirty and didn't see daylight till noon, a definate first.

So today is already mostly gone and the Lergie celebrating continues tonight with dinner and a hockey game...College Championships....oh well, more later

Katie

P.S. Is it sad that the most exciting thing we've done in high school is see gnomes and a guy from Michigan?? I think so.....

Poor Sue....

So today was pretty fun..
ToK- we had the head of education for NE or something like that come to our class to see what IB is like...Had our best discussion of the year.

Then I saw that Sue the boy hermit crab was at school today...how exciting...he came to math clss with me and spent the rest of the day with various members of the quartet....more to come later..

The rest of the day was pretty much school...I had a meeting with Neth during lunch, I got to play with the Choir during history, and so on and so on....

So after school I went to the library to work on some stuff for my recycling project well I rushed to the band hall before it was locked in order to get my oboe and what do I see? Poor Sue in the middle of a deserted hallway...scared out of his little shell. So I promptly called Sue's gaurdian and yelled at her before my phone died and that, sad to say was the most exciting part of my day.

So tonight should be fun...lots of options which makes choosing hard...

Lergs are in town for little Jeff's B-day so cake and presents are a must... (Bonus: Lergs surprise Jeff with a friend from Michigan...Extrea Bonus: He is super hot!!)

Julia's birthday was Wednesday and the party is tonight....Kinda want to go, but Im scared of the possibility of IB Strip Poker....

CHIPOTLE OPENS TONIGHT!!! Opening night is a must even if the originals aren't there...

So more to come tomorrow after a rocking night (Hopefully)

Love
Katie

For some reason I have this sense of impending doom. Maybe its because I have a lot of stuff to do and I keep saying..."I'm not going to do anything until I finish this and I'm gonna study for this test tonight and blah blah blah" but then something non working related comes up and I blow it off really easily. Take tonight. I have a ton of make up work to do but what am I doing? Blogging, just because I can. Or maybe the doom is caused by something totally unrelated and then I'm really screwed.
The rest of today was pretty cool. I got to sleep in about an hour and then got ready to go to Lincoln. They had an hour long discussion about "Careers in the Arts" and then we had lunch. They split us all up from our parents and sat us with Lincoln kids and other award winners. I was at the "Woodwind Table" and my mom got to sit with Dr. McMullen and my BESTEST friend's parents. Then us music kids went to Kimball to see some scenes from Guys and Dolls and some dancers who can't dance. THen we went to Westbrook and saw an hour long PowerPoint about the Music department at UNL. They were running behind (Could have gotten rid of a few slides), and we only got to see the last five minutes of the Wind Ensemble rehearsal...just enough time to see the Basoon guy that everyone hates and the oboe guy who looked hungover. From ther it was onto awards where everyone got an original print instead of a medal or something. It was called Berry Bush and looked nothing like a berry bush...Then it was picture time and time to come home....oh and its also Chinese food night WOOT!! The day ended with Dr. McMullen reminding me to email him if I ever had any questions. You'd think that after the fifth time he'd realize I don't have any questions.
Now my mom really wants me to go to Lincoln....Oh the hmanity of college searches....someone get her a muzzle.

Time for homework...anything to get rid of the doom.

Katie

So today hasn't been that great but it hasn't been that bad either. Its one of those typical mediocre Tuesdays. I have lots of homework to do, but I won't be in school tomorrow so I don't have to worry about a lot of it, except the history thing I still have to write and e-mail to my teacher.
I am really excited that I finally figured out how to do this blog stuff, but I changed a whole bunch a stuff on my template and can't get it to show up.
The bad thing about boring days are that they make for boring blogs so I'll end this one right here. I'll be at the Nebraska Young Artist Award Ceremony tomorrow so maybe I'll have something cool to talk about....

Until then.
Katie

P.S.
